How Brij Kapur’s friend helped him conquer Diabetes

Hello friends, my name is Dr.Brij K Kapur. I am 66 year old professor from Chandigarh and I am having type 2 diabetes since last 16 years.

Since long I was doing some common things that my doctor suggested to decrease my blood sugar levels. However, aligning my daily routine with my health goal was something I always found difficult. I did my morning walk for few days and also started having healthy diet for another few weeks but it was not consistent. These habits required a lot of motivation and sometimes I also gave up on them.

As I heard of Diabee, which is a complete diabetes management programme. I thought of giving it a try and indeed it has been very helpful for me ever since. After I got enrolled, I was assigned a personal health coach who took some of my basic details like my height, weight, daily routine and also my blood sugar reports. She understood my health goals and formulated a customised diet plan keeping in mind my daily calorie requirement. She even got the understanding of my likes and dislikes in food options and then only suggested me a practical plan. Earlier I use to have three major meals in a day and go for walk sometimes, but now I am having six smaller meals during the day and going for a walk at least 45-50 minutes daily.

I use to click photographs of my meals and send it to my health coach, she advised me healthier food options at the same time, which was the best motivator for me.

Initially I was having some difficulty in following the new routine, but gradually this changed my way of eating. Now, after following the health advice of my health coach who understood my disease pattern, my HbA1C has come down from 7.2% to 6.6% in a span of 6 months. My blood sugar fasting was 120mg/dl, it kept on fluctuating. I have noticed that after following such healthy lifestyle my fasting blood sugar levels are now consistent and range from 90-110mg/dl. Not only this, I have also regained my lost energy.

Now that I have become an advocate of healthy food choices, even my friends and family have started following my advice. Thanks to Diabee, my doctor is happy with my improvement. I feel brilliant after taking the programme, which is my friend in the fight with diabetes.
